Nidal Khatib was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Developmental Biomechanics Group from 2019 until 2022. His research project involved understanding the involvement of mechanotransduction pathways, including stretch-activated ion channels, in the development of prenatal cartilage and bone using a mechanostimulation bioreactor. Before joining Imperial College, Nidal completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Cardiff University, UK, which involved a patient-based study investigating biomechanical and biological pathways behind the development of early knee osteoarthritis. He also holds a primary degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Reading, UK, and an MSc in Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine from University College London, UK.
