Healthy development of the paediatric skeleton is essential for health and wellbeing. When any aspect of muscle or bone progresses sub-optimally in infanthood or childhood, the consequences on quality of life and even life expectancy can be severe. In close collaboration with leading clinicians in paediatric orthopaedic surgery and paediatric endocrinology we are investigating a number of research lines including Perthes’ disease (Hannah Kane‘s PhD project), metabolic bone disease of prematurity, stable hip dysplasia and patient reported outcomes measures after paediatric surgery.
